BUSINESS & MANAGEMENT CONSULTING EXPERIENCE

§  Jan 2008–May 2008: Worked on a consulting project with Burcham Hills (A retirement community in Lansing). Conducted an “Organizational Justice Audit” and made a formal presentation suggesting concrete solutions.

 

§  Jan 2006–Sept 2006: Worked with Kevin Ford on a consulting project with the Diocese of Lansing. I independently conducted and analyzed interviews with the upper management at the organization. I actively assisted in developing the training module. I also facilitated experiential group activities during the one day training program.

 

§  June 2004–June 2005: Worked as a researcher cum consultant with MANTRANA INDIA - A Delhi based Human Resource Consultancy Firm*

  Projects Involved in:

1.      Developing an “HR Priority Survey” for a corporate firm

2.      Developing a customized personality tool for recruiting Call Centre Executives in the BPO sector.

3.      Designing the course content for various management training programs such as: Interpersonal & Communication Skills, Leadership and Coaching Skills, Team Building Skills, Assertiveness Skills, and Psychometric Testing. I also assisted and facilitated in the delivery of these training sessions. I was actively involved in facilitation of role-plays, observing, debriefing and giving feedback to participants.

§  June 2002- June 2004: Applied Projects - Psychology Department, Delhi University (2002-2004). Assisted Dr. Anand Prakash on the following projects:

1.      Research and validation of “Capacity Model” for an HR consultancy firm-“Grow Talent India Limited.” The project entailed analyzing data from assessment centers and doing factor analysis to ascertain the dimensions.

2.      Change Management (Hindi translation: Parivartan) project for GAIL India: Assisted in background research and identifying appropriate strategies for preparing change agents.

3.      Research and development of a training module for a Change Management workshop at “National Academy of Training and Research in Social Securities.” (NATRASS).

 

INDUSTRY INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE

§  PIZZA HUT- June 2003- Jan 2004–Human Resources Intern at Pizza Hut*, for one year (2 days a week, as permitted by the Master’s curriculum). Individually led the following projects:

1.      Competency Mapping for Restaurant General Managers at Pizza Hut.

2.      Psychological profiling of managers as a developmental initiative.

3.      Compensation survey.

RESEARCH GROUPS

§  Measurement Group-(Active Member since 2005) – with Dr. Richard DeShon, MSU

The goals of this five member group are to discuss and develop research designs to improve measurement of constructs in organizational psychology. Currently we are focusing on improving the measurement of personality.

 

§  Work-Life Research Group-(Active Member since 2007)- with Dr. Ann Marie Ryan, MSU

The goals of this four member group are to discuss and identify potential gaps in the work-life research and to design empirical studies to address those gaps. Currently we are focusing on issues related to work-life interference and the role of occupational characteristics and boundary management strategies.

 

§  College Board Research Group-(Active Member since 2007)- with Dr. Neal Schmitt, MSU

I have been a graduate assistant with this research group for the past 2 years. This group is funded by the College Board. The goal of the group is to conduct longitudinal validation studies to examine the validity of non-cognitive tests as predictors of academic performance among college students. §  June 1999 - July 2002: VISIONS WORLDWIDE (Delhi, India). It is a student run NGO that focuses on HIV/AIDS awareness and other gender issues. It has chapters in India and in US universities like, Harvard, Yale, etc. I was the Chairperson of the Delhi Chapter and was involved in recruitment, developing training material, conducting surveys and media management.
