  • Biodata and SJT Validation
  • Collaborators: Neal Schmitt, Fred Oswald, Tim Pleskac (MSU)
  • Performing activities related to the validation and implementation of noncognitive measures (biographical data and situational judgment test) of college student potential, including the collection of longitudinal data from students across 17 universities and colleges. Funded by the College Board.

 

Burns & Wilcox, Inc. (2007)

  • Employee Attitude Survey
  • Collaborators: Ann Marie Ryan, Fred Morgeson, Tara Rench (MSU)
  • Developed an inaugural company-wide employee attitude survey. Identified assessment areas through meetings with company executives and created representative psychometrically valid scales. Analyzed results and presented conclusions to executives.

 

SkillSurvey, Inc. (2008-2009)

  • Healthcare Jobs Competency Models
  • Collaborators: Tara Rench (MSU)
  • Conducted a review of healthcare jobs based on feedback from job incumbents and the Occupational Information Network (O*Net). Developed a competency model to be used as part of a selection system. Crafted and adapted a set of behaviorally-based items.

 

The Christman Company (2008)

  • Performance Appraisal Systems
  • Collaborators: James Grand (MSU)
  • Performed an audit of the performance appraisal system with the purpose of evaluating employee perceptions of fairness. Conducted qualitative interviews with employees in the construction field as well as corporate employees. Extracted coherent themes and presented results and recommendations to management team.

 

Thunderbird School of Global Management (2007-2008)

  • Global Mindset Inventory
  • Collaborators: Leaetta Hough (Dunnette Group) and Fred Oswald (Rice University)
  • Constructed and validated measures for the construct of global mindset to be used for developmental purposes among international MBA students. Conducted analyses to refine internal structure of scale, maximize psychometric properties, and examine criterion-related validity. Created scoring and feedback mechanisms.
