CURRENT RESEARCH

Master’s thesis: Source of Expertise in Scoring Key Development as a Determinant of the Nature of the Constructs Measured (2007-present)

  • I am examining whether the identity, background, and values of different groups of subject matter experts affects the scoring judgments they make, which in turn affects the constructs measured by a test based on that scoring key.
  • Committee: Drs. Neal Schmitt, Ann Marie Ryan, and Fred Oswald

Group for Research and Assessment of Student Potential (GRASP) (2007-present)

  • I am working with Drs. Neal Schmitt, Fred Oswald, and Tim Pleskac on collecting predictor and outcome data for several longitudinal samples of incoming college students at 17 universities.  We are examining a variety of different variables with the goal of predicting performance and turnover of college students.  This work is funded by the College Board.

The Development of Parallel Forms of a Multidimensional Biodata Instrument (2007-present)

  • I am working with Dr. Fred Oswald to develop multiple parallel forms of a multidimensional biodata instrument designed to predict college student performance.  This project is related to the GRASP work.

Predicting the Behavior of College Students Based on their Behavior as High School Students (2008-present)

  • I am working with Dr. Fred Oswald to determine whether and how the self-reported behavior of high school students predicts the behavior of those students during college.

Examining how to Measure Training Transfer (2008-present)

  • I am working with Dr. Kevin Ford to determine how training transfer has been measured in the past, how accurate the measurement has been, and how it should be measured in the future.

Police Training (2008-present)

  • I will be working with Drs. Kevin Ford and Cynthia McCauley to prepare training materials and administer training to police in Michigan.
